Over the decades my pattern has really been this: I experience, I learn, I share the knowledge that seems effective, and I melt the working principles into my own services, often creating something new afterwards. Then I move on, and the cycle repeats. For me, experience and the passing on of knowledge have always stood at the centre, woven together like a spiral. Here are the main stations of my life from that point of view:
- 1991 Transcendental Meditation
My first “official” spiritual experience, during which I believe I also lived an out-of-body experience. It was very intense and defining, and at the same time frightening.
- 1991 Toward success through communication course
A very useful, practical training on 19 aspects of communication. It laid the foundation of my work as a helper and developed my communication skills.
- 1992 Basic Dianetics training
At the time this was about the only self-knowledge training available in Hungary. It helped me lay the foundations for later learning and deepening individual regression techniques.
- 1992 East Grinstead, England — study and teaching methodology
I learned a method of study and teaching that made me able, from then on, to master any theoretical or practical subject, and, when passing knowledge on, to see why a student had got stuck in the process of learning and how to help them through those stuck places.
- 1993 I held the first course of my life (on communication)!
I was very, very nervous, but my first two-day workshop, which I held alone, and in a business setting, turned out a success.
- 1994 My brother’s death
An event that defines me forever. After it came a six-hour (!) grief session, of which I can say without hesitation that it “saved my life” then. I have used this technique ever since to help others.
- 1996–2001 Hollywood — Los Angeles; Manhattan — New York
Five years of volunteer work and study in the USA. In many ways a defining period of my life. I completed a great many personal-development courses in English, and I also took part in regression therapy.
- 2003 My own therapeutic process
A regression therapy process of several sessions, which helped me understand myself and my past more deeply. This experience, and the technique itself, is what I later developed into my own Emotional Release method, with which we can help ourselves without needing a therapist.
- 2003 Starting the Quote of the Day newsletter
Hungary’s first spiritual newsletter, which many thousands enjoyed and waited for every day, for about fifteen years. Subscribers received a thought-provoking quote every weekday, one I had read somewhere or heard, for example, in a film. Two years later I began writing quotes myself.
- 2004 Coach training — at the First Hungarian Coaching Institute
A comprehensive training in which I learned the principles and techniques of coaching, which let me support others in their development. Later, applying it in business life, it became clear that this did not really interest me. It was not my world after all.
- 2004 Prananadi training
An energetic system that supports the flow of energy in the body. Their regression techniques did give me a good idea here and there, but I no longer use this system in any form.
- 2004 Dzogchen practice
Dzogchen is a Tibetan Buddhist meditation practice that focuses on understanding the nature of mind and reaching inner peace. It resembles a technique I had learned earlier in England. I have practised it for several hundred hours in my life, and it gave me a great deal.
- 2005 Developing the first version of the Emotional Release method
Perhaps one of the most important contributions of my life to other people. A method with which we can help ourselves, and which I have kept developing and refining ever since. Earlier I passed it on in courses; now I pass it on in individual sessions.
- 2005 The birth of the name Lucien del Mar, and of the blog
My name is Ruppert Endre. Lucien is a childhood nickname. A friend gave it to me in my teens, because, he said, I had “such a French head.” When I began to write in 2005, I felt I needed a creative name, because the point was not my person or my name, but what came through me. The first name Lucien was already there. At the time I listened to a lot of Café del Mar music, and so the name Lucien del Mar came together (and I have created under it ever since). Two years later I realised that, as it stood, it was also a meaningful phrase in Spanish and French. It means the glitter, the light, of the sea. And that suits me too, because water is my element (river, lake, sea, ocean — any of them will do)!
I started my blog under this name, to share my experience and knowledge with others. I kept it actively from 2005 to 2015. Since then I have mostly made videos. - 2006 The teachings of Adyashanti, and my own “unity experience”
Adyashanti is an American spiritual teacher who, blending Zen Buddhism and modern spirituality, helps people find inner peace. Reading his book The Dance of Emptiness pushed me into a state that, with no wish to polish my own image, can really only be described as a “unity experience.” I was in that state for months, and it changed me fundamentally. Later I entered it once more. Since then it has smoothed out in me.
- 2006 The Subud community and practising the latihan
Subud is an underground spiritual community built on the practice of the latihan (a kind of allowing, free movement and meditative state). The latihan lets participants come into a deeper connection with themselves and with the universe. Members of the Subud community meet regularly to support one another in personal development.
- 2006 Creating and offering the Joy of Being workshop
A one-day workshop in which I gathered the most striking techniques: the methods with which I had had positive experiences, on myself and with my clients, in terms of effectiveness and of whether they actually worked. I held it for many years.
- 2007 The Joy of Being workshop debuts abroad (Rhodes, Greece)
The Joy of Being workshop had become a very compact program, which let participants experience every technique that was passed on, quickly and effectively. By then people in many countries were reading me, and enthusiastic organisers helped take the course abroad. One of the most memorable was on the island of Rhodes.
- 2010 San Diego, USA — live blood analysis and the pH Miracle diet training
At the time one of my best friends fell ill with cervical cancer, and unfortunately neither conventional medical treatment nor my beloved techniques of consciousness proved effective. She then met live blood analysis and the pH Miracle method, which in the end helped her heal. For me this was a teaching of shocking force. It showed me that we also have to work with the body, and it made me realise how much power there is in the nutrients we take in and in right nourishment. That is how I began to study in this direction.
The developer of the method is the microbiologist Robert O. Young, who then lived and worked in California, so I bought a microscope, travelled to him, and completed the training with him. - 2010–2011 Live blood analysis in five countries
Live blood analysis is a method that makes it possible to examine drops of blood under a microscope, and helps identify processes going on in the body so that a suitable diet can be determined. Because of the method’s popularity I offered it, besides Hungary, in Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, and Greece.
- 2011 Learning metabolic typing
During the blood analyses I noticed how different my clients’ dietary needs were, so I kept looking. Metabolic typing, also called the determination of metabolic type, is a method that has been developing for several decades. It helps determine our body’s genetically set need for macronutrients, and through that the diet most suitable for us. This approach made nutritional counselling much more effective.
- 2011 Co-founding Táplálkozás-Beállítás
Together with my friend Ákos Barta I founded the Táplálkozás-Beállítás system, specialised in personalised nutritional counselling. Since then it has grown into the largest nutritional-science provider in Hungary.
- 2014 My own ayahuasca process
Ayahuasca is a plant preparation native to South America (a plant medicine), used in traditional ceremonies. My process of five ayahuasca sittings gave me transformative spiritual experiences and deepened my self-knowledge.
- 2015 Morocco
I lived in Morocco for almost half a year, getting to know the culture, the cities, and the nature there. I gave a talk, and above all I was inspired by watching life and people there, connecting with them, eating the local food from one bowl, and talking in their language. I am grateful for that time. This wonderful country, and its loving people and friends, gave me a great deal.
- 2015 My own 5Rhythms experience, camp, and process
5Rhythms is a form of free dance whose effect is deeply liberating for almost every participant. It releases stress and, like my earlier latihan experiences, was defining for me in my somatic experience: in understanding how effective work with the body can be.
- 2015 Creating Flow dance
I was living in the countryside then, and I was so enthusiastic about free movement that I also created a form of free dance of my own, and in instructing it I used what I had learned from Emotional Release.
- 2017 Learning the EVA 3000 metabolic type assessment
A more modern version of the metabolic typing mentioned above: a naturopathic device that works on a kinesiology basis. With my partner we helped many people optimise their nutrition with it.
- 2018 Hospice Foundation volunteer training
I took part in a deeply moving and instructive training that prepared me to be beside dying people and support them in their last period. This experience touched me deeply and shaped me, both as a person and as a helping professional.
- 2018 My own bufo experience
Bufo alvarius is a toad native to Mexico. South American shamans use the secretion from its skin (5-MeO-DMT) to bring on a transcendent experience. My own bufo experience was overwhelming and very intimate.
- 2022 Edina Kammerer: clear-seeing mentoring
It was a process of about half a year to a year while I learned the basics of the “clear seeing” method. I practise it little, but I gained the certainty that it is not so hard to “see” and sense information that is invisible to our everyday senses, and that this really can give practical help and move us forward in life — and our friends, our relatives, and our clients too.
- 2018–2022 Your Health Academy — founding and running the Health Academy
After long years of “solitary” creating and helping, a wish appeared in me to create a team, and in 2018 that intention ripened into action. Your Health Academy was the first venture in Hungary where a team of specialists works with your physical and mental health, using both medical and alternative approaches.
- 2023 Bodyway (bodywork), 150+ hours of my own experience
Bodyway / bodywork is deep self-knowledge bodywork done in a group. It gave me a great deal of release and experience. It taught me, for example, how I can connect in touch with almost anyone, without interest or aim. My sensing of myself and of others became finer, and it gave me a great many recognitions.
- 2024 My own therapeutic process with András Csizi
András is a mental-health professional, a couple and family therapist. Working with him showed me, for the first time in my life, what it feels like when my feelings are truly validated. I received a great deal from the process, both as a person and as a helping professional.
- 2024 My own Circling process, and training
The Circling method was love at first sight. I consider it a wonderful tool for deepening our relationships, for understanding each other better, and for returning, again and again, to love.
- 2025 Holistic Pulsing, levels 1–2
Holistic Pulsing (soul-rocking) is a holistic form of body treatment that focuses on the harmony of body and soul. Its aim is to release tension and support deep relaxation.
- 2025 Healing Touch training
Under the wing of Zsuzska Lancsin I learned every detail of the Healing Touch method she developed.
- 2025 Tantra training
Under the guidance of Aisha Hortolányi I learned tantric techniques and viewpoints, which helped me step to a higher level both in my own intimacy and in touch therapy.
- 2026 Grief-group facilitator training
At the Napfogyatkozás Foundation I had the chance to complete this wonderful training with professional teachers.
- 2026 Hospice volunteer work — Korányi Hospital
On the first occasion I spent there, the wonderful feeling of “I am home” arrived in me. It feels utterly natural and homelike to contribute, in this particular and sacred environment, to the last chapter of beings who are at the end of life.
